Holiday Collection from OctopusMe on Etsy.com
Etsy seller, OctopusMe, is one of my favorites! On the front page of her shop, she explains her reverence for the eight-armed one.
"Life on earth began in the Sea. Organisms from every major group can still be linked to those underwater. These beautiful and amazing creatures should be honored and celebrated...
The Octopus is a symbol of Transformation and Regeneration. Because of its reputation of changing colors to match its backgrounds, the octopus is also known as the Master of Disguise. Octopuses also have the power to regenerate. If an octopus loses an arm in battle it can grow a new one. Some can even detach and arm to distract predators and then grow another! Don't mess with the octopus because they can stun or kill you with one poisonous bite. The poison is called tetrodotoxin which is the same as Fugu, the puffer fish served in Japan. So treat your Octopus with Love!"
Here are a few of my favorite new pieces, available just in time for the holidays. Items ship within 3-5 days, and made-to-order items take longer, so plan ahead when ordering.

Regenerate - Octopus Tentacle Pendant, $280

OctopusMe Treasure Ring, $375

14K Gold Tentacle Nose Ring, $185

Blue Diamond Journey Pendant, $280

More Colorful Octopus Art from Nathalie Lete
Upon finding that wonderful octopus rug, I had to know more about the artist! Here's a description directly from Nathalie-Lete.com:
Nathalie lete was born in 1964. She lives and works in paris. She works in many ways, mixing different techniques and mediums, illustration, ceramics, textile and painting… She is inspired by her travels, but also by the mixing of vintage toys and old engravings of flowers and animals. Her work is colourful, naive and poetic, sometimes strange, to the point of tending towards art brut. Her world is nurtured by popular and folk art. She produces children’s and graphic’s books, knitted and stuffed toys, glass pictures, patterned dishes, but also postcards, ceramic sculptures, silkscreen printed t-shirts, rugs and jewels in limited edition… both for herself and for commissions.
