Octopus Teapots

Good news, fellow cephalophiles, there is a plethora of beautiful octopus teapots out there - all different colors, shapes, and styles. Who would have thunk it? Here are some of my favorites that I found on the web:

This divine design is a handmade work of art by Miel-Margarita Paredes. It is made of copper and sterling silver. If you think this is fabulous then you must go to Paredes's site and investigate more of her artistic oddities.

This wide-eyed and whimsical octopus is available for purchase at AbsoluteGallery.net.

I found this little rustic gem on RHoneyPots.com along with a slew of other handcrafted and hand painted ceramic pieces, which will be featured in tomorrow's post.

Why don't I find octopus teapots when I'm out antiquing?

Product description from NanHamilton.com: In shallow waters, octopuses can be very shy and reclusive, unlike the ones on this teapot. These two look like they're following you with their eyes and will float right off this pot. This stoneware teapot is 5 3/4" high, 4 3/4" (7 3/4") wide and holds 1 quart. This pot was sold in April for $566.09. (Yes, I too had to double check to make sure I read that correctly...$566.09)
