Random Octopus: Octopus T-Shirt at LA Vegan BeerFest

Few things excite me like meeting a random octopus in my travels. This past weekend at LA Vegan BeerFest I ran into this lovely surprise on a t-shirt. "Thank you" to the cool dude who was nice enough to let me take a picture!

Do you run into random octopuses? If so, snap a pic and send it to EverythingOctopus@gmail.com so we can share it with fellow cephalophiles.

Random Octopus: Banner for the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium

I went to see the new Cirque du Soleil show, OvO and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by an octopus as I walked down the Santa Monica Pier.

The banner is to promote the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium which houses a Bimac Octopus, an inhabitant of the Santa Monica Bay. The Aquarium is helping us Angelenos "get to know our neighbors" with their exhibit, Meet the Locals, which showcases creatures native to the Santa Monica Bay.

The Santa Monica Pier Aquairum is open to the public Tuesday through Sunday, and admission is a suggested donation of $5.

Random Octopus: Vard's Eight-Arm Shopping Adventure

Everything Octopus reader, Vard, is a natural octo-attractor. That's the only way to explain how she stumbles upon so many random octopuses in her travels. Check out all the octopus goodies she found during one shopping trip:

Since I don't get over to Poland too often, it's very helpful to have a reader like Vard keep us all abreast of overseas octopus action. Check out Vard's Blog for more!

***If YOU have octopus goodies, pictures, artwork, videos, or stories that you'd like featured on EverythingOctopus.com, please email me at EverythingOctopus@Gmail.com***

Random Octopus: Octopus Dish Scrubber

Random octopuses are my favorite kind. What could be more delightful then a surprise cephalopod!? Sometimes when I'm in a store or driving, I'm looking for a random octopus; maybe I'll find one graffitied onto the side of a building or on a wash cloth in the baby aisle, but other times, the sneaky little cephs find me!

I was picking up cleaning products at Target the other day when this random octopus grabbed my attention:

Random Octopus: Bayville Adventure Park

Being a native Long Islander, I was both excited and proud to see this bad boy at the Island's new pirate-themed amusement park, Bayville Adventure Park:

The octopus is everywhere!

Random Octopus: Roadside Octopus in Malibu

I don't know if it's just me or if this is a blessing bestowed to cephalophiles everywhere - I keep finding random octopuses! By Random Octopus, I mean this: I'll be going through my day, going about by business, and then BAM! I find an octopus (sometimes in the most unusual places)...and it always brings a smile to my face.

The first Random Octopus that caught my attention was this big guy...

It's a giant stuffed animal octopus, and it was perched atop an entry gate at the end of someone's driveway on PCH in Malibu.

Random Octopuses for everyone!
